Design and Modelling of a Micro Swimming Robot
Yuan, Fei; Hasan, Mohammad S.; Yu, Hongnian
Abstract
Swimming micro-robots i.e., micro-swimmers have many applications in various areas e.g., investigation, repair, rescue etc. for industrial equipment, space exploration, human body etc. Fortunately, the micro-swimmers can be regarded as swimming in low Reynolds number flow which is dominated by Stoke equation. This paper reviews existing models and proposes a micro-swimmer model based on double-helix flagella and a body. It also investigates model parameter optimisation using simulation results. These designs use a suitable model method and are discussed in dimensional details.
