Abstract
The simplicity of the basic design has proved to be robust to the changing and varied needs of different ?clients?, but the complexity of the intellectual property issues engendered by the mix of commercial, open source and hand rolled software has proved to be an insuperable barrier to its direct continuation. It has however demonstrated that such a wide ranging repository and communication system, can be developed in a short time at economic cost (1.6 man years of technical input, 1.0 of project management including Eu project communication, participation and management overheads.
