Racking Performance of Light Gauge Steel Frame Walls Made with Smartply OSB3 Sheathing Boards Phase 1: Solid Walls

Abstract

This report describes tests carried out at the heavy structures lab (A25), Edinburgh Napier University on the racking performance of a number of walls made with light gauge steel sections and Smartply OSB3 sheathing boards as supplied by Smartply Europe Ltd. Steel frames were supplied by the SCI Light Steel Forum (LSF). The client’s requirements was to determine the racking performance of a series of walls made with light gauge steel frames LSF stud sections and Smartply OSB3 sheathing boards as supplied by the Client.
