Abstract

Solar thermal technologies are amongst the most diverse and effective renewable energy technologies. They range from low-temperature (200°C) and sophisticated ones like solar air conditioning and solar thermal power generation. Solar thermal technologies, similarly, have a broad economic bandwidth amongst them. The most successful application of solar thermal technologies so far has been in the form of solar water heating. In this entry, a brief overview of the prominent solar thermal technologies has been presented in which the technology fundamental and operational principles of these technologies have been precisely discussed
