Abstract
This baseline study was commissioned by the Scottish Government in order to collect information which will be used in the subsequent evaluation of the new model of community nursing proposed in Scotland (Scottish Executive Health Department 2006).
The baseline study was designed to provide quantitative and qualitative evidence of the views and satisfaction of community health nurses with their current role and their views on the proposed model. It also gathered data on the views of their clients, particularly their experiences of receiving care and support from nurses in the community.
