Abstract

This chapter provides the basic weather and solar data required for manual calculation of heating and cooling loads in the UK and Europe. For building simulation purposes, hourly data for CIBSE-defined Test Reference Years (trys) and Design Summer Years (dsys) have been
derived for 14 locations in the UK, see Table 2.1. These are available separately from CIBSE. The basis for selection of the dsys and trys is given in Levermore and Parkinson (2006). How the data are to be used is covered elsewhere in this Guide.
