Beyond my role a member of the Technical Committee I serve also as a Future Direction Liaison advising the board for future research strategies and research dissemination for the public.
The mission and objective of the IEEE CTSoc Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Metaverse (VAM TC) is to implement the Field of Interest of the IEEE CTSoc and to assist, support, endorse, corroborate and strengthen IEEE CTSoc conferences, publications, standards, education, future directions, new initiatives, emerging technologies, technical sessions, workshops, and research, and other information exchanges in the area of eXtended Reality and the Metaverse, associated display technologies, architectures, algorithms, certifications, applications, systems and related frameworks / technologies.
VAM TC is a cluster of engineers, practitioners, technologists, scientists, researchers from Industry and Academia from around the world.
The committee also assumes the proactive duty to recommend suitable candidates from VAM TC members to serve as:

Recognition Type Invited Speaker Description We had the privilege of participating in a prestigious national event on the 28th of March 2025, dedicated to showcasing the latest advancements, challenges, and innovations in the field of kidney dialysis. This important gathering brought together leading professionals and experts from across the UK to exchange knowledge and explore new solutions in renal care. The event was organised by the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and hosted at the Michael Smith Amphitheatre at the University of Manchester, providing an excellent platform for collaboration and learning. During the event, we presented our Virtual Reality (VR) Home Haemodialysis Training Application—a cutting-edge solution designed to support patients and healthcare providers in delivering safer and more effective dialysis treatments at home. Our presentation was met with a highly positive response, generating strong interest and support from a specialised audience that included renal physicians, nurses, and clinical trainers. This highly respected conference is renowned for its multidisciplinary approach and inclusive structure, bringing together professionals dedicated to improving the psychosocial care of children with chronic kidney conditions.
At this year’s event—expected to be the largest and most diverse to date—we will aim to increase public engagement and disseminate the benefits and functionality of our Virtual Reality Home Haemodialysis Training Application, focusing on children who require dialysis.
This is an exciting opportunity to demonstrate the application’s capabilities to a broad audience of renal healthcare professionals from across Europe.
Our presentation will engage doctors, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, dietitians, social workers, educators, therapists, youth workers, paramedics, and administrators.
