Biography Simone is the Deputy Head of Global Online at the Business School, following a promotion after two years as School Academic Lead Online. She works in collaboration with programme leaders and module leaders in implementing the strategy for 6x online business degrees offered globally, focusing on programme- and module-related enhancements and digital student experience, including learning, teaching, and technology integration. Simone also supports and trains staff delivering online teaching, marking, and assessment. In 2023, Simone completed Edinburgh Napier University's MSc Blended and Online Education with Distinction, which provides strong pedagogical underpinning to her practice.

Simone is also a lecturer in Marketing, joining Edinburgh Napier University in 2019. She has an industry background in marketing and the digital industry, including working a year on behalf of Google at the Google Digital Garage in Edinburgh and various digital and social media agencies. Her PhD investigated online video, its production and distribution from 1998-2005 – the area of ‘web 1.0′, just before the breakthrough of YouTube (2006) and the advent of social media. In her work, Simone aims to bridge the gap between marketing theory and practice, to ensure marketing education is aligned with the needs of industry and business. Her research interests are digital education and skills, small business marketing, and digital marketing, and as a member of the Centre for Higher Education Research, she is engaged in research relating to digital skills and AI in marketing education.
