Investigating international students' transitions using a scoping methodology

Abstract

The session introduces the university-wide scoping project conducted at Edinburgh Napier University to investigate practices supporting international students’ transition onto programmes. This research project explores and maps the entirety of practices supporting international students’ transition, with a particular focus on identification of best-practices and gaps in provision, and development of an integrated approach and terminology to supporting international students’ transition at ENU.
The session aims to present the rationale behind the university-wide scoping methodology as well as a guidelines to allow for cross-institution replication of the study. Preliminary analysis of data will also be presented and implications discussed.
