All operational officers in Police Scotland are to be trained and equipped with intra-nasal Naloxone, a life-saving medication which
can be given safely to people who have suffered a drug overdose. The decision was informed by recommendations made by an
Edinburgh Napier University-led study1 following an independent evaluation of a pilot carried out between March and October 2021.
