Life Tables ? A Plea for their Use.

Abstract
This article highlights the important contribution that life tables can make to teaching in the social sciences and in engineering subjects, especially when comparative work is carried out. The article ends by illustrating how to form the life table and generate appropriate graphs using a spreadsheet.
