Abstract

A documentary film about period poverty and menstrual health. The film focuses on the importance of free access to period products and how this improves the life chances for women and girls, especially in relation to education but also for gender equality and dignity. The film charts the Scottish Government's process of passing legislation to make period products free - the first country in the world to do so and follows Edinburgh Napier students as they design and research period product dispensers. The film follows them in Scotland and in Uganda where they meet a range of menstrual health educators and social initiatives.
The film is 52 minutes long.
