Abstract

The Bloomsbury Handbook of Popular Music Education draws together the most current thinking on the subject of popular music education from practical, empirical, ethnographic, sociological and philosophical perspectives. Through a series of unique chapters from authors working at the forefront of the field of music education, this book explores innovative ways in which a wide variety of international music educators approach popular music education. Through capturing various perspectives on popular music education, this book will help inform practices centered on “outside” and “other” learning to provide insight into the myriad ways in which popular music education is developed and implemented.
