Matthew Orr

Biography Matthew joined the School of Computing, Engineering and The Built Environment in September 2022 as a KTP Associate. Matthew works on a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between Edinburgh Napier University and Camerons Strachan Yuill Architects, where he is developing a scalable framework for Building Information Modelling (BIM) in small-medium sized practises. Through his role, he is based full-time in Camerons Strachan Yuill Architects where he is developing their systems and upskilling the staff to enhance their BIM capability.
Matthew became passionate about BIM and bringing the advantages to small Architectural firms through his Graduate Apprenticeship at Edinburgh Napier University, where he is completing the final year of his honours degree in Construction & The Built Environment. Matthew also competed in the WorldSkills UK competition in Digital Construction and achieved Highly Commended in the 2022 National Finals.
