Biography Carolyn Scott is a lecturer in Journalism at Edinburgh Napier University, lecturing on the BA and MA Journalism courses and BA Mass Communications.

Beyond academia, Carolyn is a trustee with the small but mighty human rights charity, Making Rights Real. With a background in media and communications work in equality and human rights sectors, Carolyn is particularly interested in the use of collaborative media production to not just inform, but empower individuals in understanding and asserting their rights.

Having worked for many years as a journalist, presented and producer, Carolyn's professional experience lies predominantly in international radio, new and digital media, and social video production. Carolyn founded and ran a new media company in 2015, experimenting with online radio production and digital news.

Carolyn completed her Bachelors in Music (2013) and MA Journalism (2018) at Edinburgh Napier University.
