How to solve the problems of solid waste pollution at high altitudes in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan: The case of Lenin Peak

Abstract

This paper reports on recent activities to remove solid waste from 4,250 metres on Lenin Peak and current proposals to establish an appropriate governance solution to support the longer term protection of this high altitude natural area.
