The Dynamism of partner selection criteria in franchising
Rahatullah, M K; Raeside, Robert
Abstract
The article presents a quantitative study of franchise firms in Great Britain on the selection process of potential franchisee, and its impact with the size, age, and type of business. The franchisor would be least attracted to the expertise and competence of the franchisee, and would look into the aspects of trust and security, managerial and financial ability, and flexibility. These factors would vary on the life cycle of the franchisor's business, especially to the businesses which are operating for six to eight years and are growing rapidly.
